I'm back and I'm pissed at Apple.

So I know I have not contributed to my blog in awhile but I'm back. I still keep up on the Android news, and I still root and mod phones like nobody's business. I will be broadcasting again soon also. In addition, I am getting ready to redo my PC to be compatible with new studio equipment I purchased, this means better sound quality and better quality broadcasts altogether. So below is a rant I was going to write on Facebook, but I guess it was about 100 characters too long. I tried to get the owner of the law firm I work for an iPhone 4 today and it just didn't happen...

My dislike for Apple and their products as well as their PR/Marketing stunts has grown even deeper. Today, I tried to get my boss an iPhone 4 because he wants one, and he's the boss. After 8 hours in line, in the Phoenix heat no less, the Apple people told us it was a no go. I refuse to believe that they do not have the resources to make the iPhone 4 available in mass quantities for the public WITHOUT reservations to anyone who wants to buy on on the day it debuts. BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT STEVE JOBS THINKS YOU'RE TOO STUPID TO CHANGE YOUR OWN BATTERY. You pay him to make these decisions for you, remember that.

So after a long day in line, in the end, the Apple bois came out and told us we were fucked, "NO iPhone FOR YOU!!" So I hung my head low and went back to the firm and explained the options.

Option 1: Come back at 8 AM tomorrow morning and they "MIGHT" have some in stock.

Option 2: Try for the Bazillionth time to order this thing on Apples Website. FAIL!!!

Option 3: Give your name, email address, and the type of iPhone you want (like anyone would stand in line for 8 hours for something other than the newest Apple product?) to be put on the "Priority" List.

When it comes to economics, something is only worth what people are willing to pay for it. So let's see here, limit supplies, create a PR/marketing fiasco, get the local news vans at every Apple store, and people might be willing to line up in droves. Apple has mastered this insane marketing strategy. Hype it up and people will pay what ever you want them too.

As I am standing in line the Apple bois are "demonstrating" the "new" features of the iPhone. One of the "new" features was the ability to use an SD Card. This is not a new feature Apple! This is an industry standard! I have to admit that the front facing camera is pretty cool and new, but Android did it first with the Evo. These are not innovative features, these are common sense features that are already implemented in the consumer market!

Speaking of the Evo, I got a chance to handle one today after the smuggy hell of the Apple Store. Let me say that the Evo is a beautiful phone. The 4.3 inch screen makes for a super large keyboard. The HTC Sense runs beautifully and smooth. This phone is top notch and dwarfs my Nexus One. This is essentially an over-sized Incredible with few differences.

Just so you all know, I will be announcing the the return of Android Corner very soon. The life change is complete, and I am ready to come back. I will be looking for a co-host and this may dictate which day I broadcast. So keep an eye out for the Android Corner's return very soon complete with the green sheet!!!

Here's some pics from the fanboi frenzy for your general amusement...

The Missus was smart and brought a chair.

Sheep...

6:00AM at the Biltmore Apple Store in Phoenix, AZ

The Apple bois were very polite, they kept the cattle well fed.

One excited fanboi was able to get his hand on the mediocrity of the day...
